Minding Mum 4-Week Circle

August 6 @ 11:30 am 1:00 pm

Minding Mum is a 4 week circle space for mums (along with their babies) to replenish, rest, be cared for and connect with other mums.

*Note dates are:  Tuesday 6th, 13th, 20th and 27th August @ 11.30 a.m. – 1 p.m.

**Early bird price of €85 available until Friday 26th July. Price thereafter is €95 for all 4 weeks.

Each week will have different nourishing practices (such as restorative yoga, guided meditation) and an exploration on a different theme based on Matrescence (the biological, social, physiological, spiritual changes etc. that happen when we become a mother).

Why I’m creating this space:

Throughout my own Matrescence journey, I felt that there were very clear guidelines/maps for my baby, but none for me.

All aspects of my identity changed and continue to change. I had no idea how to make sense of these changes or how to support myself. The old ways of supporting myself no longer fitted into this new life.

What felt missing from my own experience was a group of mothers to safely share this to who were currently navigating this also.

I longed for a space to go beyond chatting about how my baby was doing; I longed for a a space to unravel how I was doing, to safely express the mixture of emotions that I was feeling, to be held, to be seen.

I also felt extremely depleted especially during my recovery post birth for several months that all the naps in the world weren’t enough. I needed something more to help replenish. I needed a space to restore my frazzled nervous system, to be nourished, for myself to be mothered.

I feel that there can be a lot of focus on our baby’s needs where the mother’s needs may not be prioritised in the same way.

Mothers are also newborn; as a new version of themselves is born also. Mothers also need to receive, be held, and given space every bit as much as our baby’s need and deserve.

What to expect:

⦁ The circle revolves around two pillars of motherhood; the importance of connection and importance of rest.
⦁ Like with any challenge in life, the ability to have safe, honest, real conversations is crucial with supporting our emotional wellbeing. This is no different with motherhood. There will be opportunities to share many different aspects on your experience of motherhood (if you wish).
⦁ There can be a lot of overwhelm and pressure from the demands of the mother load so there will also be several opportunities to rest your mind and body through different nourishing restorative practices such as gentle yoga movement, yoga nidra, meditation.

What will happen during each circle:

⦁ A reflective space to safely explore and unravel your motherhood journey.
⦁ Grounding practices such as meditation and mindfulness to bring ease to your nervous system.
⦁ Restorative yoga to promote deep rest and re-balancing.
Opportunities to chat and connect to be listened to and held.
Tea/Coffee and snacks.

This is for you if:

Have a baby aged between 6 weeks and 12 months.
Want to feel less alone and isolated in your motherhood experience.
Would like to learn and try restorative practices to help bring some ease even when having your baby present.
Are longing for a compassionate and supportive community of like-minded mothers to share your experiences.
⦁ Are craving for a safe space to unravel the emotional, physical, social, psychological changes in becoming a mother.
Desire a space to acknowledge and validate the enormity of what actually happens to women as they become mothers.
Want to focus on your own self-care, to soothe your nervous system, re-fill your cup and release.
