It’s ok to not be ok, but it’s also ok to ask for help.

It’s ok to not be ok….but it’s also ok to ask for help.

You do not need to be at a crisis point, be suffering for a long time, have experienced something extremely traumatic to ask for help. That help can be a friend, a family member, a coach, helplines, a mental health professional.

In saying that, it does not automatically mean it is easy to ask for help. Asking for help can be difficult for many reasons. It might be hard to recognise in ourselves when we need help, especially if we are not used to reaching out. Maybe it is easier to give help than receive it. Maybe you felt worst, minimised, invalidated that one time when you reached out.

It’s good to talk but it’s better to talk to someone who you trust, feel safe with and feel validated by. No issue is too big or too small. Don’t forget that you matter.
